About Enkidu

What is Enkidu & who am I?

Enkidu is the wildman turned hero in the ancient Epic of Gilgamesh, but for me it embodies more than just a mythical character; it represents a lifestyle. It's being conscious of our existence and being present in every moment, while delving into the profound meaning of our humanity. Achieving the state of Enkidu involves immersing ourselves in meaningful literature, art and poetry, which transcends cultural, geographical, and temporal boundaries.

Enkidu rejects the mindless pursuit of material wealth and the shallow distractions of consumer culture and superficial entertainment. It's about saying NO to the unnecessary noise and getting comfortable in silence. It's living without fear, embracing truthfulness and kindness, and trusting both ourselves and the universal energy that permeates us all.

Enkidu intends to transform our time on earth into a grand adventure, so that when our final moments come, we can close our eyes with contentment and smile on our faces, ready for the next adventure.

But who am I? I'm a painter, designer and storyteller based in Toronto, Canada. I chose the artist name "Enkidu" inspired by the wildman character of the Epic of Gilgamesh. I hope he approves of my use of his name! I have a deep passion for painting and storytelling, a passion I've been working on for quite some time. Through "Enkidu Artist Inc.", I aim to create and share art that is not only visually appealing but is also thought provoking, exploring the timeless truths of humanity from ancient times to present day. My work includes wearable art, paintings, sketches, and very soon books.
