Sumerian Figure - Standing Male Worshipper

Isn't this an expressive face expression or what?

The male worshipper sketch is part of my studies of Sumerian Art, which directly and indirectly has affected "The Epic of Gilgamesh" collection. This artifact has been retrieved from the square temple at Eshnunna (Modern Tell Asmar) in Iraq, 2700 BCE. Not too far from where Enkidu and Gilgamesh where roaming the earth.

I did this sketch in January 2025, during a snowy holiday season in Ottawa. The sketch was done with blue pen on medium thickness paper and it's 5.5" by 8.5". Shipping is free for North America.
